Today we announced the launch of the marketAgility MCP Connector, a new integration that connects marketAgility stores to leading AI platforms.
Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to business software, the marketAgility MCP Connector works with any AI platform that supports custom MCP connectors, including Anthropic’s Claude and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Virid clients can use it to search products, orders, and customer data, and to manage catalogs, inventory, and promotions through natural language requests instead of the admin dashboard. Retailers can work in whichever AI platform your team prefers, and the integration stays useful as the AI landscape evolves.
MCP has quickly become the common language that allows AI assistants to work directly with business systems. By supporting it, Virid gives clients a single, secure connection point between their store and the AI tools they choose, without having to build or maintain custom integrations.

How the marketAgility MCP Connector Works
Once connected, your AI tool can integrate with the following areas of a retailer’s marketAgility store. “Read” actions look up existing data, and “write” actions create or alter data. The connector will always ask for confirmation before modifying or removing anything, so users don’t have to worry about losing important data.

Examples of tasks users can request to help automate their marketAgility store include:
- “Find all products with SKUs starting with WDG that haven’t been updated in the last 90 days.”
- “Create a new promotion code for 15% off, expiring at the end of the month.”
- “Pull up order #10482 and summarize what was purchased.”
- “Update the inventory count for product 3391 at the downtown store.”
Connector Availability and Setup
The marketAgility MCP Connector is available to all Virid clients with an active marketAgility store and a marketAgility account with API access. Accounts are authenticated through a standard sign-in screen, so no API tokens or technical setup are required.
How to connect to Claude:
- Go to Settings → Connectors in Claude (or your organization’s connector directory settings).
- Find marketAgility and select Connect.
- Enter your store’s site key, username, and password on the marketAgility sign-in screen.
- Approve the connection, after which Claude redirects automatically.
How to connect to ChatGPT:
- Go to Settings → Connectors.
- Enable Developer mode under advanced settings if you don’t already see an option to add a custom connector.
- Click Add connector / Create, give it a name, and paste in the marketAgility MCP server URL: https://api.marketagility.com/api/mcp
- Save the connector, then click Connect. You’ll be redirected to marketAgility’s login page to sign in and authorize access.
- You can now enable the marketAgility connector from within a chat to let ChatGPT use it.

Data Privacy and Security
The connector uses OAuth 2.1, the same industry-standard authorization flow used by most professional software integrations, adding another layer of protection to keep client data secure.
- Users authenticate directly with marketAgility, not with the AI tool.
- Your AI software receives a short-lived access token scoped to the user’s store, plus a refresh token, so users do not need to re-authenticate with each request.
- Tokens can be revoked at any time by changing the user’s marketAgility account credentials.
- The connector does not maintain its own user database or credential store, and every request is authenticated against marketAgility directly, in real time.
- The connector does not copy, cache, or retain store product, order, or customer data outside of the request and response for the action.
- Data is not shared with any third party other than marketAgility itself.
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
